ES Task Manager has been the app for a quick clean up of opened apps that are still running in the background. For a deeper clean of your tv box, SD Maid will be go-to app. It not only kills background apps, but also cleans up a tonne of items such as cache and temporary files that have built up as you use your box.
INSTALLING THE APP
Option 1: With Thumbdrive
Apk will auto-download when clicked on this link http://bit.ly/4210sdmaid.
Copy this .apk file into your thumbdrive and insert into the tv box.
Open appinstaller app on your tv box and install the .apk from your thumbdrive.
Option 2: Without Thumbdrive
Open web browser in your tv box, key in this URL http://bit.ly/4210sdmaid, and the apk will auto-download into tv box.
Find File Browser app in tv box, go to Local disk > Download. Click on the apk that you have just downloaded.
Select Install when prompted.
You can now find the SD Maid app under the Apps section of your TV Box.
USING THE APP
You will still be able to operate within this app using the tv remote control, however it will be best to use your air controller or mouse to navigate for better visibility of what you're clicking on.
When you first enter the app, click on "Scan" located at bottom of the screen.
For first time users, the app will prompt you to grant permission. Go ahead to grant access.
Wait till the scan is over, click on "Run now" located at the bottom of the screen.
A pop up message will next appear, select "Delete". Once this completes, the deep cleaning is all done!
! NOTE: The app might prompt you to update it when you enter the app, please do not update for this time round.
